LAND AND BREDENBERG LEAD ELECTION RESULTS! PDF Print E-mail
      BOB LAND RETAINS
     CARC PRESIDENCY!

Bob Land continued his pursuit of gaining Colorado Auto Racing Club exposure and success at the election general meeting held October 17th. With a membership of around 40 in attendance, Bob beat out Frank Denning III and Paul Bredenberg for the presidency. It is generally felt within the CARC that Bob has done and will continue to do a creditable job in leading the Club to more greatness.
Bredenberg claimed the Vice President's role in the second vote, taking the position from the 2007 CARC Champ, Denning III.

In other election results, the Board was almost completely refilled with only Gary Land finishing out the second of his 2-year commitment. Elected to the other two-year term was Frank Denning III. Theron Bredeson took the first of the one-year positions on the Board with Margaret Young re-elected to her position. New to the Board besides Denning and Bredeson will be "new blood" in the form of engine builder Rod Guilford. Alternates are returning member Bill Kolb and the driver of #59, Jeff Hubbard, who is fulfilling a lifelong dream of racing with the CARC in his green machine.

Also voted on, but results will be kept on ice until the banquet, were Hard Luck Award and Best Looking Car Award. Several good-looking cars were nominated and it was a tight field that required a runoff vote. There were also several nominations for the Colorado Auto Racing Hall Of Fame plaque. It was decided to add two names to the plaque this year and some old names came up as well as some newer names. Results will be announced at the Banquet.

For those who are interested, a new clean copy of the Club Bylaws are now available from Barb Roskopf. All the changes that have been passed in recent years are now set in print and the new copy is correct. Don't forget to get your tickets to the CARC Banquet, to be held November 3 with dinner at 7:00pm at Red & Jerry's at Santa Fe and Oxford, just east of where Englewood Speedway used to be (for those of us with gray in our hair). Adult tickets are $35.00, and kids 10 and under are only $12.00. Discount tokens for the games will also be available at the Banquet. Hope to see you there!
