Eric "Blackie" Blackard #46 PDF Print E-mail

Eric "Blackie" Blackard drives the #46 Chevy coupe owned by Joe Sullivan for the CARC's 65th Anniversary 2011 season. Eric's family is a racing family, and his grandfather Thurman (also known as Blackie) raced with the number 46 on his car. His family has been into racing ever since including quarter midgets and sprint cars, mostly on dirt. Eric's first taste of the local big time was being on Mike Pratt's pit crew at Lakeside Speedway. This is Eric's first complete season of racing the CARC mod coupes, although he got his feet wet in them with a couple of races run in 2010.

Eric does not come to the CARC with limited experience, however. He has raced at Colorado National Speedway for some time, as his bio shows fourteen years of being behind the wheel. He won the 2010 Sportsman Track Championship at CNS, which is not an easy thing to do. He also won the overall Sportmanship Award at CNS in 2007.

Eric's crew chief is Tommy Lee and his crew includes Tom Graham, Jamie Ward, and Mike Warner. His sponsors are Pair-A-Dice Interior Finishes, Anderson Heating, Waco Scaffolding, Lakewood Muffler and Paradise Auto Body. He is married to Paula and they live in Lakewood with their three children, Jasmine (18), Carley (12), and Mikey (10). He is employed as an outside territory salesman for Waco Scaffolding and he has dedicated this season to his car owner, Joe Sullivan.

We're watching for Blackie to get a handle on the CARC mod coupes for this season!
