Mike claims he got started by being in "the wrong place at the wrong time" and he lists his worst racing memories as those when he was "trying to knock concrete walls down". He notes that AJ (we're assuming Foyt) as his greatest racing influence, and his favorite memory was actually watching Dale Earnhardt, Sr win his Daytona 500. He chose his number because team management (his wife) preferred it and his former number was not available. He has dedicated his season to "My Banker". Mike is his car owner and driver, but Rocky Wilson is his crew chief. His sponsors include LTS Builders LLC (303-902-4134) and LTS Performance Motorsports. He's a remodeling contractor by trade. Mike and his wife Janie live in Centennial and have three adult children who live on their own. Welcome to the CARC, Mike, and good luck at the track! We're looking forward to having you aboard! |

Mike Wood will be making his CARC debut during the 2011 racing campaign. He comes to us not as a raw rookie but with no mod coupe experience. He's been racing off and on since 1971 and most of his experience is in late model stock cars. He has won a few track championships but is too humble to list them. We'll try to get more information from him soon. He has also competed in the Pike's Peak Hill Climb, so going fast is not a problem for him. His car is a Wilson chassis sporting a '32 Chevy body and is numbered #44x.
