Mike Fetters, #56 PDF Print E-mail

Mike Fetters drives the #56 with the CARC mod coupes. This pretty little yellow 1931 Chevrolet coupe body covers a Wilson Chassis Works chassis and a 350 Chevrolet V-8 powerplant. This is Mike's third year of racing with the CARC. He started out in a "small town with a racetrack", so racing "seemed like the thing to do!" He started racing in 1973 with a Super Stock, which he ran until 1975. Mike took some years off and then drove off-road racers from 1991 through 1993. His first year in the CARC was 2008.

His greatest accomplishment so far was to beat cancer, turn 50 and still be racing! His worst memory was hitting the wall in 2008 and totalling his car. I think we can all relate to that one. . . He chose, well, his wife chose, the number because that was her birth year, which Mike calls a lucky year for him!

Bill Doty owns the car and the crew chief is Steve Oldsen. Kyle Steadham is the other crew member. The sponsor is A&D Custom Cruisers. Mike lives in Brighton with his wife, Susan. He has one child, Kris (32) and is a professional mechanic by trade. Let's cheer for the yellow and purple Chevy to gain some more checkers this year!
