Joe James, Jr. (JJJ), #54 PDF Print E-mail

Joe James, Jr. is part of a CARC family tree. Joe's Dad, Joe Sr., raced with the CARC in the late 1950's and early 1960's. So this racing nut hasn't fallen far from the tree. His has been a stellar career and he still knows how to get it on when the green flag flies! Joe drives a 1934 Ford coupe over a Wilson Chassis Works chassis and a 360" Chevrolet V-8 under the hood. He chose the number 54 because it was his Dad's number, as well.

Joe started racing in 1968 with the CARC at Lakeside Speedway. He moved up to late models at CNS when the track was paved and has gone on to win FOUR CNS track championships. His favorite memory was becoming the CNS NASCAR track champion. He counts his Dad as his most influential person, and would like to dedicate his 2010 racing season to his Mom.

The car is owned by Mark and Jody Lammey. His crew chief is Marlow Thorfinson and the rest of the crew includes Tony Garcia, Joey James, Tony Guerrieri and Randy. His sponsors are Gillett Vet Clinic, Mama's Place, CinnaMonster and USA Performance Engines. He lives in Welby, Colorado and has two children, ages 40 and 37. He lists his profession as an operator engineer.

It's great to have JJJ back with the CARC and we're looking for him to put the 54 back in victory circle!
