Carl Vair is driving the red #45 coupe with the CARC for 2010. This is Carl's seventh year with the CARC and runs in a '32 Ford coupe with a Wilson Chassis Works chassis underneath and a Greeley Automotive Machine (GAM) Chevrolet V-8 out front.

Carl's interest in the CARC began when he was a young boy and his grandparents took him out to Lakeside Speedway with his brother to watch the races. He became hooked (we can relate)! His friend, Bruce Rhoades, got Carl into racing, although he's always loved it.

His favorite memory is of friends and family, and I'm sure his greatest achievement so far is his Main Event victory at Cheyenne in 2009. Off-road racing is his only other form of racing. He chose the #45 because it was on his first car when he bought it. Carl would like to dedicate this season to his wife, Patty. He owns the car and his crew chief is Glynn Moore. Also on the crew is Steve Oldson, Kevin Lewis and Patty.

Carl's sponsors are Preformance Equipment and The River Room. He lives in Coal Creek Canyon where he runs his own auto repair business. He has three children: Jason (28), Heide (26), and Ari (6).
