His greatest accomplishment was getting sponsorship by Mountain Dew, and his favorite racing memory is holding the track record in Salt Lake City. Worst memory? Crashing - we can all relate! His greatest influence in his racing career is his Dad, Bill Johnson. He chose the number 29 because it is the number he wore on his baseball and football jerseys. He wants to dedicate this season to his son, Landen, who was just six weeks old at the beginning of the season. The car is owned by Bill and his crew chief is Jeremiah Witherwax. Other team members are Herman Deran and Rod Spencer. His sponsors are Johnson Jr. Racing and Nationwide Remodeling, of which Dave is the owner. He lives in Littleton with his wife, Brianne Shaefer.

David Johnson drives the #29 Ford Coupe with the CARC. It's a 1932 body riding on top of a Wilson Chassis Works chassis. A Bill Johnson 350 Chevrolet V-8 resides under the hood. Dave has been racing for 24 years and started with go-carts in 1986. His first year with the Club was 2007, and he has experience with late models, protrucks, and legends, too.
