The CARC is sad to announce the death of former driver and owner, Bob Foulk, who raced the "Nifty Fifty" #50 car back in the late 1950s and early 1960s. I'm looking for anybody with a picture of Bob and his car. Details will be posted as they become available. Paul Bredenberg

A Wild and Wooly Finish!
by Paul Bredenberg

The CARC mod coupes finished the 2011 season in an unforgettable finale at Colorado National Speedway on October 22. It was one of those nights where nothing expected happened. We had the largest field of the year appear thanks to the addition of some of the High Plains Modifieds including Dean Carr's #18, Drew Utecht's #07, and Greg McLaughlin's #38. We also welcomed back Dave Johnson with his beautiful #29 coupe, who was testing the car out for a full-scale return for the 2012 season. Carl Vair also showed up with his new #45 coupe although the car was admittedly underweight. More on that story later. We had hoped to see Cris Muhler bring out his repaired #95 but he had to spend the entire week at the hospital with his mother who had serious medical problems. We understand and pray for her complete recovery, Cris!

Miss Peggy's Mom Passes Away PDF Print E-mail
Written by Paul Bredenberg
Friday, 16 December 2011 23:52

The CARC sends our deepest sympathies to CARC Hall of Fame members Chris and Peggy Ertler in regards to the following:

Miss Peggy Ertler's mother Margaret "Peg" Thompson passed away just before noon today December 7, 2011. Peggy's mom suffered from Alzhiemers and had a pretty tough time the last few years. Peg was preceded in death by her husband Dee and son Bill. Peg and Dee will be interred together in Fort Logan National Cemetery on December 12, 2011. Peg was 93 years old and loved being a part of the CARC while staying at our house during the '90's when we both were on the board of directors.
Signed lovingly,
Miss Peggy and
Chris Ertler
