It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we must report the passing of one of our legends, Ronnie Lee. He started racing with the CARC in 1952 and raced for about 50 years. He was also a Club official many, many times and helped to keep the Club together after the 1988 accident that closed Lakeside Speedway. Ronnie has been inducted into the CARC Hall of Fame and the Colorado Motorsports Hall of Fame as well. Our sympathies go out to Ronnie's widow Sara and the rest of the Lee clan. Dean Carr (Ronnie's nephew) is hosting a Farewell to Ronnie at his Mom's house 2101 S. Harlan St. take Sheridan to Warren, go west to Harlan, next to last house on the left.
Tuesday Jan. 10th from 4:00-7:00 pm Bring a dish, drink, pictures but most of all bring your memories to share with all of us who knew and loved "The Grand Old Man of the Modifieds". Ronnie was a legend who not only raced for over 50 years, he helped many of us to get into racing or keep us racing by providing cars, parts, advice and any assistance he could. Ronnie will be greatly missed by all of us. RIP Ronnie, we Love you. |
