OFFICIAL CARC ANNOUNCEMENT - 14 July 2010
As a result of his actions at CNS on 19 June 2010, Scott Rhoades submitted his resignation from the CARC Board of Directors to the board on 22 June 2010. However, the board asked Scott to reconsider his decision and Scott withdrew his resignation at the 14 July meeting. The board accepted his decision stipulating that Scott Rhoades is on probation (as a board member) through the remainder of the 2010 season.
A situation involving Gary Land and post-race tech required the board to establish definitive procedures for cars making stops enroute to post race tech.
Effective with the 10 July 2010 Gary Land incident, the following procedures/penalties are established:
“ 1st & 2nd place finishers will ALWAYS go to post-race tech. Additional cars may be added at the tech official’s discretion. Any car properly notified to go to post-race tech, that makes any stop enroute to the tech inspection area will be penalized to the last running position on the racetrack. Car will receive points/monies for that position. Car must pass post-race tech inspection. Drivers with special circumstances (i.e. competing in multipile divisions) must notify CARC officials of their situation prior to the main event.”
As a result of this ruling, Gary Land’s official finish position at I-25 is changed from 2nd to 7th. Posted point totals reflect this change.
